Partner Butch Hayes Leads Tennis Team to National Championship, Helps Fight Against Cancer
By Weisbart Springer Hayes
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – On Sunday, September 28, 2014, partner Butch Hayes captained the Texas Open Tennis Team to a National Championship victory in Las Vegas. The tournament, which benefits the American Cancer Society, is the only one of its kind in the United States, and draws elite professional and collegiate players from around the country to compete on a team basis at the highest level recognized by the United States Tennis Association. The team consisted of former University of Texas stand-out players, as well as some of the highest-level professional players in Central Texas. “This was a great example of the value of bringing a team, rather than a group of individuals, to compete. There is something special about the connection between these guys that lifted their level of play and helped bring the best out in each of them,” said Hayes.
Partner Julie Springer says she is not surprised by Mr. Hayes’ team building success outside of the courtroom. “One of the keys to Weisbart Springer Hayes’ success is a commitment to excellence, fostering an efficient and value-adding team approach for our clients, and maintaining a healthy competitive nature. Butch’s tennis achievement is just the latest example of that commitment.”
