Austin Law Firm Weisbart Springer Hayes Adds Trial Lawyer Matt C. Wood

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas litigation boutique Weisbart Springer Hayes LLP has added experienced trial and appellate lawyer Matt C. Wood, who joins the firm from the Austin office of Baker Botts LLP.

Mr. Wood has experience in a wide range of complex commercial litigation, including trial experience in both federal and state courts. He has represented individuals, emerging businesses, and Fortune 500 companies in cases involving breach of contract, trade secrets, employment and discrimination issues, patent infringement, real estate and construction, software licensing, fraud claims, health care, administrative law, and open records.

Selected this year to the Texas Rising Stars list of the state’s top young lawyers, Mr. Wood earned his law degree, with high honors, from The University of Texas School of Law in 2008, where he was a member of the Texas Law Review and the Order of the Coif. He completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, with highest honors, at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004, where he was recognized as a Henry Ford II Scholar.

While at Baker Botts, Mr. Wood received the Judge Thomas Gibbs Gee Award in 2014 for outstanding pro bono legal services. He is also a member of the Austin Young Chamber of Commerce.
