Four Firm Partners Again Recognized by Texas Super Lawyers for 2019

By Weisbart Springer Hayes

Four Weisbart Springer Hayes LLP partners have again been selected for the Texas Super Lawyers list in 2019 for their litigation and appellate expertise.

Name partners Geoffrey D. Weisbart, Julie A. Springer and Sherrard “Butch” Hayes have each earned multiple, consecutive selections to the peer-review list since its creation in 2003. Firm partner Sara Janes has been honored since 2016, having previously been recognized among the Rising Stars rankings of top young lawyers.

For the second year in a row, Mr. Weisbart was included among the Top 50 lawyers in central and western Texas for business litigation.  A practicing attorney for more than 30 years, he is widely respected for securing significant jury verdicts in a wide variety of disputes. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Ms. Springer was honored by Texas Super Lawyers for her employment and labor expertise. In this area, she represents clients and has tried cases nationwide. In addition, Ms. Springer has an active Title IX practice. She is one of the few attorneys in Texas to be Board Certified in both Labor and Employment Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Mr. Hayes also was selected for his national labor and employment practice. For 27 years, he has successfully tried complex business, technology and employment disputes in state and federal courts across the country representing Fortune 50 companies, individual executives and entrepreneurs. He is the former President of the Austin Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law.

Ms. Janes was selected for her appellate practice; she also advises clients on strategy at the trial level in state and federal court and arbitration. Her experience spans a variety of practice areas including labor and employment, contract disputes, trade secrets and Title IX.

Researchers for Super Lawyers, which is owned by Thomson Reuters, compile the list of honorees based on nominations from more than 70,000 practicing lawyers in Texas. A blue-ribbon panel of attorneys assists with final selections, and less than 5 percent of all Texas lawyers earn the honor each year.

The Super Lawyers list is published in the October issues of Texas Monthly and the Texas edition of Super Lawyers magazines. The full list is available online at http://www.superlawyers.com.
